Perrine Punwani

Perrine is currently the Program Manager for Conflict and Environmental Change for the International Rescue Committee. The International Rescue Committee (IRC) serves refugees and communities victimized by oppression and violent conflict worldwide. Perrine has been working with IRC country programs to hypothesize localized effects of climate change and how these may impact human security. In terms of climate change, the IRC is committed to reducing its carbon footprint and greening operations internally; actively following Climate Change policy on Capitol Hill; and beginning to roll out Disaster Risk Reduction programming in the countries in which it has operations.

Prior to joining IRC, Perrine served as an International Programs Coordinator at the Earth Day Network, a Rural Primary Health Extension Agent in Senegal with the U.S. Peace Corps and a Program Assistant and Expedition Leader for the WildLink program in Yosemite National Park. Perrine holds a Master’s in Environmental Management from the Yale University School of Forestry and Environmental Studies and a BS in Environmental Studies from the George Washington University.
